What kind of traveler would this property suit?
Silvan is spot-on for couples, especially honeymooners, wanting something seriously romantic and luxurious. It’s also ideal for guests who appreciate art, design and personalised attention.
What in your opinion are some of the most standout/impressive features about the property?
The suites are incredible – beautifully designed and really private with private plunge pools. Service was also a real highlight; our guide and tracker were fantastic. The whole place has a really stylish and modern vibe. Wildlife sightings were (unsurprisingly) amazing given it’s in the Sabi Sand.
What is the service at the property like?
Everyone was attentive and genuinely friendly. Our guiding team was top-notch – they really knew their stuff.
Tell us about the food (if applicable)?
The food was delicious and beautifully presented – proper gourmet stuff. They also took care of any dietary needs. Dining in different spots for different meals was a nice touch too.
How would you describe this property in a few sentences to someone wanting to book it?
Silvan Safari is a glamorous and intimate getaway in the Sabi Sand. Think stunning, modern suites with private pools, amazing service, and great food. Perfect for a special occasion or if you just want a really high-end safari experience focused on comfort and great wildlife encounters – without breaking the bank.
What activities are available to do there?
It’s mainly about the game drives and bush walks, and both were excellent. Relaxing by your private pool and spa treatments are also options.
Tell us about the journey to get to the destination – what are the logistics like in terms of travel time, transport etc?
The best (partly) commercial route is to fly to Kruger Mpumalanga International Airport (KMIA), and then hop onto a small charter plane to Chitwa Chitwa Airstrip very near Silvan. Charter flights are the best option if you’re looking to save time though.
What do you recommend to a guest in terms of a minimum length of stay for this property?
I’d say you really need at least two or three nights to fully enjoy it and relax into the experience.
What time of year would this property be at optimal enjoyment?
Sabi Sand offers a fantastic experience year-round.
What is unique about this property?
It’s definitely the contemporary design that stands out – a bit different from the usual safari lodge. The focus on really personalised service and an intimate feel due to the smaller size make it special.
