What kind of traveller would this property suit?
It’s very versatile. Families, couples, multigenerational.
What in your opinion are some of the most standout/impressive features about the property?
The architecture and interiors are superb – far from any kind of safari cliché, the lodge is unusual
and inspired, and embraces the surroundings while offering sophisticated and design-forward
spaces. Also worth noting are the people – welcoming, professional and knowledgeable in equal
measure.
What is the service at the property like?
Very warm and personal but polished. It’s almost as if your needs are anticipated but it doesn’t feel
at all formal. All aspects of the service are impeccable and detail oriented – from the expert guiding
to the front of house team and housekeeping.
Tell us about the food (if applicable)…
Food is contemporary, light, fresh and delicious. Locally sourced produce is used whenever possible,
and the menu honours regional dishes and ingredients.
How would you describe this property in a few sentences to someone wanting to book it?
Faru Far is an inviting, design-forward and intimate lodge that leaves no detail unattended. Beautiful
spaces to relax complement the exquisite and spacious suites. The scenery is beautiful and the
lodge’s deck and dining areas overlook a small watering hole. It’s a true escape into nature.
What activities are available to do there?
Daily guided game drives are part of the daily offering, but you can tailor your experience as you
choose. The team is amazingly adept at crafting unique experiences whether that’s a bush picnic or
walk. Hot air ballooning is a popular experience for the region too – this is facilitated by an external
supplier, but the team at the lodge will organise it for you.
Tell us about the journey to get to the destination – what are the logistics like in terms of travel
time, transport etc?
Guests would fly to Kilimanjaro or Arusha airport, and then it’s a short flight with Singita’s local air
partner Grumeti Air (one hour and one hour 15 minutes respectively, if direct) to the Singita
Sasakwa landing strip at Singita Grumeti. From there it’s an easy (game) drive to the lodge.
What do you recommend to a guest in terms of a minimum length of stay for this property?
To properly get into a relaxed frame of mind and rhythm, we recommend you stay at least three
nights. This also allows you enough time to settle in and enjoy the beautiful spaces of the lodge
without skimping on activities.
What time of year would this property be at optimal enjoyment?
If you’re wanting to see the Great Migration, then time your trip for July-September, but this lodge is
wonderful year round.
What is unique about this property?
Its interiors and architecture, cuisine and service are all standout.
