It is an excellent spot for couples – a very romantic setting, with an epic backdrop of Mount Kilimanjaro, and the rooms are secluded and private. But with an amazing kids’ room, family suites and child-specific activities, it is also great for families.

Its location! It has the most amazing uninterrupted view of Mount Kilimanjaro.

It’s very friendly, and attentive, but polished and not overbearing.

Very good – with a focus on homely and simple dishes. They also do an amazing fresh pizza, served in the bush!

How would you describe this property in a few sentences to someone wanting to book it?
It’s a special property, and a perfect introduction into Kenya, with great wildlife sightings. It’s also very private in an area that can be quite busy in terms of tourists.

What activities are available to do there?
Game drives within the conservancy as well as in the National Park; night drives and walking safaris. There are a couple of fun and unique additions too, not found at every safari location – such as a viewing tower with 360-degree views designed to watch passing elephants, a photography studio available for use and photography lessons, or a pyjama photoshoot.

Tell us about the journey to get to the destination – what are the logistics like in terms of travel time, transport etc?
The flight from Wilson Nairobi is to a private airstrip, and thereafter it’s a 30-minute drive to the lodge. Or if you’re arriving by scheduled flight into the national park, the drive to the lodge is an hour and a half.

What do you recommend to a guest in terms of a minimum length of stay for this property?
You need 2-3 days here minimum to make the most of the setting and experiences.

What time of year would this property be at optimal enjoyment?
The period between June and October (dry season) has the best wildlife viewing.

What is unique about this property?
This area offers an opportunity to see the big tuskers – there are less than 50 left in the world and the majority of them can be found in the Amboseli region.
