The level of service and understated luxury the lodge achieves. The sleep-out experience is also incredible.

What is the service at the property like?
The service is some of the best I have experienced anywhere in the world.

Tell us about the food (if applicable)?
It’s very good, and completely tailored to each guest. There are no menus, so guests plan their meals everyday with the chef, and meals are completely personalised.

How would you describe this property in a few sentences to someone wanting to book it?
It’s one of the best lodges in Kenya, with a top safari offering, and a backdrop of Mount Kenya.

What activities are available to do there?
Game drives; nature walks; visits to the anti-poaching unit. You can also visit the nearby community. The Art Tour at the lodge is a great way to get to know the extensive and impressive collection. Bush picnics, and heli safaris are a great way to see the landscape when not on drive. And the showstopper Nay Palad Birds Nest welcomes you with sundowners for a night sleep-out.

Tell us about the journey to get to the destination – what are the logistics like in terms of travel time, transport etc?
It’s a 40-minute charter from Nairobi.

What do you recommend to a guest in terms of a minimum length of stay for this property?
You need 3-4 days minimum – you could easily spend a week here.

What time of year would this property be at optimal enjoyment?
During dry season – July to Oct and January to March.
