It’s a magnificent hospitality experience in one of the most beautiful and awe-inspiring settings on earth, that’s made all the more meaningful because of its strong conservation purpose, and the nature-based activities that a stay in Rwanda is designed around – primarily gorilla trekking.

Cycling through the property and community land, pottery, tree-planting, nature walks with the resident conservationists, wellness treatments with location-inspired ingredients, gorilla and golden monkey trekking.

Tell us about the journey to get to the destination – what are the logistics like in terms of travel time, transport etc?
You will fly to Kigali, and from Kigali (which is also well worth a day or two of exploration on either end of your trip), the drive to Singita Kwitonda is around three hours (depending on traffic and weather).

What do you recommend to a guest in terms of a minimum length of stay for this property?
Four days and three nights is a decent amount of time to spend here. Any shorter and you can’t properly experience all the property has to offer – bear in mind that gorilla trekking (depending on the location of the gorilla family you are assigned) can take the bulk of a day, with transfers, so bear this in mind and allow enough time at the lodge itself.

What time of year would this property be at optimal enjoyment?

You can go at any time of year – while there is more rain in some months, it’s always lush, green, misty and beautiful.
