As one of South Africa’s leading safari specialists, Steadfast Africa is passionate not only about bringing people to our continent, but also about its upliftment and protection. This has long been part of our DNA – we work with destinations, operators and enterprises that uplift communities and further conservation in various ways, whether by creating positive experiences of Africa, employing local personnel and supporting local suppliers, or by proactively encouraging guests to pursue initiatives that promote the longterm wellbeing of people and planet.
A large part of why we work in luxury travel is to directly benefit those who live and work in Africa – because, by travelling to one of the many countries we operate in, you’re supporting tourism, and in turn the careers of the many people who will welcome you, and communities and conservation at large.
Spreading the love in London
You don’t have to travel to Africa (yet) though to make a difference. For those who are passionate about ecotourism and conservation in Africa, and the people who make it possible, but perhaps aren’t able to head off on holiday right now, there are other ways to show your support. Following the success of our 2022 and 2023 functions, we are holding a third charity auction event – on 4th July in London, where we aim to better our previous years’ achievements in aid of organisations working for, and in South Africa.
A dynamic event bringing together likeminded people for a night of networking and good company, it will have a luxury auction at its centre – with not-to-be-missed lots generously donated by some of the world’s leading safari and hospitality brands. In addition to these once-in-a-lifetime experiences, we’ll be doing spot giveaways on the night, and holding a raffle with a host of travel and luxury lifestyle prizes. The evening is open to the public, industry professionals, and the media, please contact Rogan to secure a spot on the guest list rogan@steadfast.africa
Who does your support benefit?
Most important is who the funds raised on the evening benefits. This year, Steadfast is working with not one, but two partner organisations, to ensure your generous support goes as wide as possible. All proceeds raised from the event will go to the Good Work Foundation, and the Kolisi Foundation, founded by Siya and Rachel Kolisi.
Both organisations focus on community upliftment initiatives with programmes and projects that address various challenges in different ways – from encouraging and supporting entrepreneurship through digital skills development, to creating safe spaces through education, and addressing food insecurity, all crucial to bolstering our tourism offering, and in turn supporting sustainable conservation.
Investing in Africa into the future
Beyond our event in London, you can support these organisations directly, or simply book a trip, and being part of the success of African ecotourism. The funds generated by responsible travel and guest donations are critical to the empowerment of people and the conservation of wilderness and through these, many initiatives are kept viable and made successful.
So, when you come on a trip designed by us, and visit a lodge or resort that proactively gives back to communities and conservation through their respective programmes, you’re playing a crucial role in sustainable tourism.
