Southern Africa in general is a low risk Malaria area. Malaria is still present and risk is dependent on the specific area you are visiting. We advise getting in touch with our team if you have any questions regarding the malaria risk in the area you will be visiting. South Africa, Botswana, Zimbabwe, Zambia and Namibia are low risk areas and most of our clients choose to not take malaria prophylactics when visiting these destinations. Preventative methods including long sleeve shirts, long trousers and mosquito spray are advised, especially after sunset and in the rainy months. If you are traveling to Southern Africa while pregnant, we advise you to consult with a doctor. The responsible decision is to take malaria prophylactics when visiting Malaria areas. If visiting Mozambique, we insist clients to take malaria prophylactics.
